to diplomas, where everyone can get a recognised qualification playing the music they
love), The Gathering is an ideal opportunity to showcase young Welsh rock talent aged
up to 18, and to catch them live before they make it big.

The night also featured headliners The Guns (renowned up and coming four-piece
rock band from South Wales who are receiving an ever increasing following throughout
the UK), rock/power pop Port Talbot based Kid Keep Dancing, All For The Fall – winners
of The Gathering 2008, popular hip hop DJ Jason Camilleri as MC, spot prizes,
competitions, outdoor mobile youth club, chill out areas, stalls and games.

Andre van Wyk, Arts Development Officer for Bridgend County Borough Council said:
''I want to say a massive thank you to all the lovely people that volunteered their time
to come down and help on the day! Without the massive team of volunteers it simply
would not happen. The bands were great and all the judges were in agreement that
the level of talent was truly remarkable.''
